some things about me

grew up in seattle, washington. still here.
studied at washington state university.
found my way into developer tooling, ai agents, and orchestration, and never left.
now: security lead on gemini cli at google. the open-source ai agent for your terminal.
before that: gemini code assist, cloud ai sdks, and developer relations.
i build products users love and chase the edge of what ai can do. sometimes in a terminal, the browser, a desktop, or in your pocket.

some things i believe

make the safe path the fast path.

the safest system is the one people actually use.
guardrails should feel like momentum, not friction.
if the right way is the slow way, the design is wrong.

push agents to write code worth keeping.

"it works" assumes a perfect spec. real work is underspecified, so agents guess.
they nail test coverage but miss the human calls: api shape, cli flags, what to optimize, what to keep compatible.
you can't say it works until a human reads it and thinks. this is what i'm building toward.

ship it, watch it run, fix what breaks.

iteration speed beats getting it perfect on paper.
defaults are decisions. most people never leave them.
most things that stop you from shipping are made up.

writing about where ai is going, what agents might become, the side quests in between, and whatever i'm nerding out about.
